The Whitsunday Neighbourhood Centre provides a variety of services for the local community.
Services include:
Family Support: "Working Together to Strengthen Families"
The program aims to strengthen families by providing assistance and support to children and parents to reduce tension and 'breakdown' of the family
unit. It also aims to assist parents with decisions that affect their family situation. The program offers individual and group counselling; parenting
and child management skills; advocacy; support for children, young people and parents; referral to other services and seminars and workshops.
The Family Support Service is for families experiencing difficult personal and relationship issues or families needing support during stressful
times.

Community Development program:
This program is co-ordinated by the Community Development Officer and deals with issues concerning our community as a whole. The mission is to assist
in ensuring that the community receives a full range of human services. The CDO has a special responsibility for working alongside and assisting
community groups.

Emergency Relief:
The Neighbourhood Centre is an agency for emergency relief assistance. Under strict Government guidelines, and providing that funds are available, we
can assist people in crisis with food and fuel vouchers together with some relief for household bills and emergency accommodation.
Legal Aid Queensland
The Neighbourhood Centre is a Community Access Point for Legal Aid Queensland. We can help with paperwork, forms and information in regards to
accessing Legal Aid. Ph 1300 65 11 88.
Opportunity Shops
We have two opportunity shops run by generous and willing volunteers. "The Shed" and the "Op-Shop" are located at the Neighbourhood Centre and include
furniture, brick-a-brac, clothing, homewares and more.
Endeavour Room:
Located at the Neighbourhood Centre, the Endeavour Room is a modern, air conditioned multi-purpose room or conference facility that seats 60 and
catering can be provided. It has its own kitchen, TV, VCR and Data projector and is suitable for:
Meetings
Seminars
Clubs
Support Groups
Interest Groups
Adult education classes

Frozen Bread Scheme
With the support of Brumby's we are able to offer day-old bread to families and individuals in need. Bread can be collected from our freezer at
reception, Monday to Friday 9am until 3pm daily.
STEPS Program
STEPS is a vibrant community not-for-profit organisation focused on empowering individuals in need, assisting them to overcome barriers, so they can
become active and contributing members within their communities. Through a wide variety of employment, community and training programs, STEPS seeks to
